Every year, each child at the orphanage receives two uniforms for the new school year and two pairs of shoes with socks. One set of clothes to wear while the other is being washed. These uniforms are lightweight and breathable for the hot and humid conditions throughout the year in Southern India. Being worn every day, being made of lighter materials, and the fact that the children are active and growing, the uniforms are good for only one year. Even that is a stretch!
